Your outstanding district actors: Nike Ritschel, Carson Miller, Rosalia Paredes, Zachery Randall, Madalyn Meyer, and Lucas Timm! One judge would have given us the best ensemble award if that was a thing. Today we fought hard and left it all on the stage. Although today did not turn out how we thought it would, this was a season of growth, and I am proud of how far we have come since our first performance. In the judges words, “it’s like a whole different show.” Our crew deserves a special shout out - without you we wouldn’t have a set to perform on, lights, fog, or sound! Good afternoon! This is Jason Dolliver, the Superintendent of Pender Public Schools. The weather forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday could make travel very difficult and dangerous. As of now, we are projected to get between 6 and 9 inches of snow and up to 40 mile per hour winds. Snow is slated to begin around the noon hour. Time will tell what actually happens. I intend to keep a very close eye on the situation as this weather event unfolds in an effort to make sure the best decision possible can be made for the safety of Pender students and staff. The timing of this weather event will make decision making challenging. I will do my best! The intent of this message is to inform you of the weather situation headed our way. It is also intended to prepare families for what may need to happen in the middle of the day tomorrow. If and when it begins to snow, it likely won’t stop for several hours. This may make it necessary to dismiss school early. I would like to limit the amount of time between the decision to close school early and when school is actually closed. Limiting that time frame will allow school to be in session for as long as possible. If the weather does indeed dictate closing school early, it would be great to be able to dismiss no more than 45 minutes later. A shorter amount of time would be even better. My request is for families to prepare for a situation in which school is dismissed early tomorrow. Your cooperation with this request is greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day!

Good afternoon. This is Jason Dolliver, the Superintendent of Pender Public Schools. This message is intended for families that utilize bussing services. The recent flooding has created the need to alter our bus routes. The east route (Denny’s Route) has the following changes. The first stop will now be Thurston, which used to be the 3rd stop. In other words, that stop will happen 10 to 15 minutes earlier than normal. All stops after Thurston will be 10 to 15 minutes earlier than normal as a result. Please make plans to accommodate these changes. Scott Pfeiffer, Pender’s Transportation Coordinator, will call the first two stops (Krueger & Walker) to discuss the plan for these families. The west route (Nadine’s Route) is going to be difficult to judge. Riders are asked to be ready 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time, but know, your pickup may be as much as 10 minutes later than normal. Your pick up times will gain consistency every day. Scott Pfeiffer will be in contact with a few families with some special circumstances. Your patience and understanding is vital, and it is also greatly appreciated. Mother nature threw us a curve ball and we are doing our best to adjust. Feel free to contact Scott, your bus driver, or me if you have any questions or concerns.

Pender Speech: These kids worked super hard this season and six persevered to compete in finals. We felt the heartbreak today at districts, the cards just didn’t go our way in Bancroft. To our seniors we will miss you next year, but be proud of all you have accomplished. Our district medalists: Sadie Lamplot 5th Entertainment Kelcie Bartlett 6th Informative Madison Burns 6th Serious Rosalia Paredes 6th Humorous Alexis Bodlak 4th Poetry Zachery Randall 5th Extemporaneous All earned superior ratings as they are superior speakers - so much talent!

Good morning, this is Jason Dolliver the Superintendent of Pender Public Schools. As you likely know, the highways and roads in the Pender Public School District are experiencing a lot of water related issues. There are a lot of places where water has flooded roads, and there are lots of places that are very muddy. These issues and others are making travel very difficult. The forecast is calling for quite a bit more rain and some snow over the next 24 - 36 hours. Snow that fell throughout the winter will also continue to melt. In other words, the road conditions likely won’t improve throughout the course of the day. All PPS students are accounted for, meaning they are either here or at home with their family. That said, families are encouraged to do what they feel is best for their specific situation. Families that feel it is best to get their children home now should do so. Those that are comfortable leaving them in school throughout the day should do so. Again, families should make decisions based on what is best for their specific situation. Travel at the end of the school day could be very difficult or even impossible for busses. It may be necessary for parents of students that ride the bus to pick up their children from school rather than sending them home via bus. As the day progresses, PPS personnel will communicate with families that utilize bussing services. Parents and family members should start to plan now for end of the school day transportation. This is a very unique weather event, and I apologize for any inconveniences that are happening as a result. PPS will continue to do everything possible to keep all students safe. As of right now, school will be dismissed as planned at 2:30 pm. If that changes, you will be notified immediately. Feel free to contact school personnel if you have any questions, concerns, or requests. Thanks and have a great day!
