QUIZ BOWL

On April 28, the Quiz Bowl team went to Northeast Community College for the NECC Quiz Bowl Tournament. The Quiz Bowl team consisted of Daniel K., Joey G., Michael M., and Chris D. Pender beat their first round opponent, Lindsay Holy Family, 30-10, then lost to the eventual champion Stanton, 15-45.
The tournament works like this: there are ten toss up questions per round. A correct answer is worth five points. After a correct answer, a bonus question is giving to the team. A correct answer is worth 10 points.
First round questions Pender got correct:
Toss up: What metal alloy is the Liberty Bell made of?--Bronze
Bonus: These street names are for what drug: Snoopy, Acid...etc.?--LSD
Toss up: What European river flows into the North Sea?--The Rhine River
Toss up: What ethnic group was discriminated and put into concentration camps in the United States from 1942-1946?--Japanese Americans
Toss up: When someone takes the stand against themselves, there are doing self_?--Incrimination
Second round questions Pender got correct:
Toss up: This Greek goddess was considered to be turned into the first spider and was named_?--Arachne
Bonus: Green Bay is a large city that borders which Great Lake?--Lake Michigan
