Upcoming Spring Banquet

Our Pender FFA Chapter had officer elections on Thursday, April 17. The new officers for the 2008-2009 school year will be as follows: President-Brant Peters, Vice President-Ben Purucker, Secretary-Courtney Rutar, Treasurer-Dylan Kent, Sentinel-Jacob Lamplot, Parliamentarian-Rochelle Calderon, Historian-Celsey Wichman, Reporter-Tara Baker, and Adviser-Mr. Bartlett (as always). These eight members will be leading our chapter for the next year.
Friday, April 26, the FFA will also be having their annual Spring Banquet. The night will start with the opening ceremonies, which will be led by the 2007-2008 officers. After the opening ceremonies will be a welcome speech by Matthew Smith. Following the welcome speech will be the meal (catered by Welsh's) while the "Year in review" slide show will be playing. Following the ceremonies will be Certificates of Appreciation. Also, awards for top fruit sales, chorus, scholarship pins, leadership pins, proficiency pins, new member recognition, teacher of the year, community partner of the year, and star awards will be given out. An alumni member will then give alumni remarks. The 2008-2009 officers will then be installed by the 2007-2008 officers who will be retiring and "hanging up their jackets" after the advisor remarks by Mr. Bartlett. Ending the night will be the Closing Ceremonies, by the new 2008-2009 officer team.
