PENDER FFA TRAVELS TO LINCOLN
State Convention Has Ties to Pender

On Wednesday, April, 2, the Pender FFA Chapter will depart from Pender at 1:15 and begin their trip to Lincoln for State FFA. Many different members are competing at State in a variety of contests. Also Jill Lander (Pender Alum) will be giving her retiring address as a State officer on Thursday at 1:30. There will be 41 students from Pender attending the convention this year.
Some of the teams that are competing are Livestock Management, Nursery/landscaping, Ag Sales, Junior and Senior Parli Pro, Ag Sales, and also Meats. The livestock management team consists of Brant Peters, Joseph Guenther, Jordan McKay, and Hannah Bowder. The Nursery/landscaping team members are Blake and Brenn Kai, Daniel Kent, and Brant Wichman. The Ag Sales team members are Jonathan Smith, Austin Fillipi, Matt Hansen, and Ben Purucker. The Junior Parli Pro team has seven members: Rochelle Calderon, Callie Janke, Crystal Henopp, Jordan Nelson, Brant Peters, Celsey Wichman, Jonathan Smith, and Quinn Fillipi. The Senior Parli Pro team consists of six members: Matthew Smith, Kayci Allen, Courtney Urbanec, Joey Guenther, Hannah Bowder, and Shandi Thompsen.
The FFA encourages parents and supporters to attend the evening sessions at the Pershing Auditorium and also leadership events on Thursday and Friday at the Cornhusker Hotel. This year there will be 14 FFA members receiving their state degrees, 5 will be participating leadership events, and Jill Lander will be giving her retiring address so please come and support your local FFA.
