FOREIGN EXCHANGED STUDENTS!

This semester we are lucky to have two new foreign exchanged students with us. Natalia Vasconcelos, and Lais. Natalia is living with the Howells, and Lais is living with the Splitzburgers.  I asked both of them a few questions just so we can all know a little bit more about them.

 

 

What were your first thoughts when you first got to the United States?

     Natalia: How cold it is here and how different the culture is compared with my culture in Brazil
    Lais: I've been in US before with my parents and I thought the country is organized with intresting cities. Now i also like the friendly people.

What is something you miss in Brazil that we don't have here in America?

    Natalia: Warm weather, all Brazilians food, and only having 6 periods in school
    Lais: I really miss the hot weather and some foods that we don't have here.

What do teens in Brazil do for fun?

     Natalia: they go to the cinema, go to parties, go to the mall
     Lais: In Brazil we usually go out to the cinema or shopping. We have a lot of parties and when we don't have anything to do we go to a pub.

What are some cool places you like to visit in Brazil?

   Natalia: Fernando de Noronha, Natal, Amazonia
   Lais: I like to go to Ro de Jamulio, Sau Paulo, Cabo Luo

What is one thing you want to do in the United States before you go?

    Natalia: Visit New York, Florida, and Hawaii
    Lais: I really want to go ski!

What kind of jobs do teens in Brazil have?

    Natalia: None
    Lais: In Brazil teens start to work when they're 18 years old and their jobs is relationed with the college that they are doing.

What kinds of food do you like and dislike in America?

   Natalia: I hate junk food so it's difficult for me to like Americas typical food.     
   Lais: I like every kind of American food except peanut butter and pickles.

How many more years of school do you have left when you go back to Brazil?

    Natalia: Six months
    Lais: When i go back to Brazil i have one more semester and on December 11 I finish school.
