DRAGONS ROUTE HOMER/L-D NORTHEAST

On January 8, the Dragon basketball team traveled up to Homer for a game against the Knights. Pender beat Homer 68-41. Then on January 11, the Dragons stayed home and let the Cougars of Northeast travel to Pender. The Dragons won convincingly by a score of 97-43, setting a new school record of most points scored (previous: 93, 1993).

At Homer, Connor H. led the team in scoring with 22 points. Josh B. put up a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Connor H. and Matt S. were the assist leader with six a piece. Defensively, Josh B. had two blocks, Joey Guenther had one, and Matt S. led the tam in steals with four. From the free throw line, Pender went 9-17.

Against the Cougars, Josh B. put up another double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Jon Smith and Joey G. each had six assists. On defense, Josh B. had three blocks and Connor H. and Eric D. had a block a piece. Brant Wichman led the team in steals with four. The Dragons hit 8-10 from the stripe.
