Mount Michael, Valentine, Wakefield

The Northeast Nebraska Shootout kept the Pender Dragons' basketball team in shape over the holiday break. The Dragons ran into a scoring drought against Mt. Michael, losing 42-32, but bounced back against the Badgers from Valentine, annihilating them 90-46 but then fell to Wakefield 58-47 in the fifth place game.

Against Mt. Michael, Josh B. produced yet another double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Connor H. was the second leading scorer with nine. The assist leader was Matt. S. with three. Leading in steals was Matt S. and Connor H. with two and Eric Doht had two blocks.

Against the Valentine, Connor H. was the leading scorer with 30. Josh B. put up 20 points and came down with 12 rebounds. Matt S. led the assits with seven. Defensively, Matt S. had four steals. From the charity stripe, the Dragons went a respectable 18-23.
