STUDENTS LEARN SEATBELT SAFETY

And The Danger Of Drugs And Alcohol

by Daniel Kent

On October 23, the Providence Medical Center of Wayne came to Pender to teach the junior high and high school about the dangers of drunk driving and not wearing seatbelts. They gave a descriptive account of the medical procedures they use in a medical emergency after a car crash. They also showed the equipment they use for those procedures. They also shared information on how drugs and alcohol can affect the mind and body and can lead to poor decisions. They shared stories of some of their experiences of treating patients that come into their hospital after car crashes.

Remember, students and staff, how important it is to buckle up. . . .  .
