PONCA PREVAILS OVER DRAGONS

Pender Finishes Regular Season 5-3

On October 18, the Dragon football team made the trip up to Ponca for their last, regular season game. In the rain and mud, the Indian beat Pender, 33-14.

On the ground, the Dragons were led by Matt S., who had 19 carries for 94 yards. Joey G. had one rushing touchdown. In the passing game, Joey G. completed 12 of 28 passes for 112 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Leading receiver was Grant F. with four catches for 37 yards and one touchdown.

On defense, the leading tackler for Pender was the one and only Brant W. with 13 solos and three assisted tackles. Robert D. and Jared J. also had good nights making people eat mud, with Robert D. having 10 solo tackles and Jared J. had seven solo tackles.

On special teams, Matt S. punted the ball six times for 195 yards. Returning Ponca's kicks were Jordan N. and Grant F., with Jordan N. having for returns for 49 yards and Grant F. returning one for 23 yards.
