FFA Takes on Land Judging

Pender FFA members spent October 20 judging land in the Lyons area. The individuals left early in the morning and didn't return until about 3:30. The 17 competitors examined the darkness of the soil and also hardness. They also looked at how level the land was. In land judging they observed four different holes throughout the day. The above elements were worth a possible 100 points each for a total of 400 points for the entire contest.
The highest placing from Pender was taken by Christopher Dahlman. He ended the day with a total of 286. The next highest was Brant Peters who acquired 222 points. Levi Heese kept close to Brant with 220 points. At 211 was Karlee Christiansen and not too far behind her was Jay Schrader with 205. Celsey Wichman left Lyons with 201 points. Dylan Kent and Tara Baker both tied with four other competitors from surrounding areas at 199. Jordan McKay wasn't far behind after getting a total of 194. Page Frank ended with 191and Callie Janke with 187. Three individuals from Pender were extremely close together. Those three were Jordan Nelson at 177, Katie Peatrowsky at 176 and Bryce Robertson was one more point down at 175. Robbie Thomsen achieved a total of 169. Catherine Svoboda ended at 154 and Travis Jacobsen at an even 100.
