Hello again for Who's Who in Pender Schools. Mr. Volk was #36. Listen up for #37.
Staff Spotlight
Let’s get started with this week’s ”Can you guess the staff member?” This staff member has been teaching here for 13 years, but she came to Pender Schools as a student in 2nd grade and stayed throughout her Senior year. Her favorite school memory is in 2nd grade when she had Mrs. Gatzmeyer as her teacher because she was kind and gentle. This ”Who’s who” was involved in musicals, band, pep club, chorus and was a yearbook assistant editor. Now, that this a lot of things to be involved in during school. She then went to college at Wayne State college where she got her teaching and Master’s degree.
Before she worked at Pender Schools, she worked at Rink Manufacturing cutting steel pipes. This PPS staff member also owned and operated her own businesses. One was a consignment shop and a doll house shop where she made new porcelain dolls and repaired old dolls for people. She also was a sheriff’s dispatcher! Talk about a talented teacher!
Outside of school, this ”Who’s who” remodels and flips houses. She and her husband have redone over 28 houses. She also plays the keyboard in church and likes to garden. When she is not busy remodeling or gardening, this ”Who’s who” likes to go to her brother-in-laws cabin in Minnesota to fish. She enjoys the beauty and time to relax and goes fishing!
If she would have any job in the world, she would love to open another shop where she could sell one-of a-kind decorating items for people’s homes, and also be a consultant for people waiting to fix up their own house. So, if you get a chance to ”stop and think,” can you guess this “Who’s Who?”
